Terre des 2 Caps: bicycle parking arches and bespoke signage

As part of its policy to promote active travel, the Terre des 2 Caps Community of Communes has chosen Altinnova to provide several sites with bicycle parking solutions that are robust, sustainable and easily recognisable.
This first phase of the project saw the installation of 31 bicycle arches “A”, as well as 9 bespoke signage totems, positioned near the parking spaces to guide users and raise the profile of the cycling facilities. Other locations across the area will soon be fitted out to continue expanding this parking provision.
Sturdy, customised cycle racks, integrated into the public space
Urban A arches offer a solution that is robust, secure and durable. They make it easy to secure the frame and wheel of a bike with a lock and blend seamlessly into any public space.
For this project, the Terre des 2 Caps Community of Communes has opted for bespoke equipment:
- 26 urban “A” arches made of galvanised steel with RAL powder-coated finish (colour of your choice).
- 5 urban “A” arches made of galvanised steel with RAL powder-coated finish and timber cladding, for enhanced integration into the landscape.
These 31 bicycle arch “A” help to provide a cycle parking facility that is visible, attractive and sustainable throughout the region.

Customised signage to make cycle parking more visible
In addition to the arches, nine bespoke signage totems were designed and manufactured specifically for this project.
Situated near car parks, they make it easy to spot the spaces reserved for bicycles, help to reinforce the local authority’s visual identity and encourage the use of cycling facilities.
This customisation demonstrates Altinnova’s expertise in designing solutions tailored to the specific needs of local authorities, in terms of both functionality and aesthetics.
A roll-out set to continue
This project marks the first stage of a wider programme. Further sites within the Terre des 2 Caps Community of Communes will soon be fitted out to extend the network of cycle parking facilities across the whole area.
By gradually developing this infrastructure, the local authority is making it easier to cycle, encouraging active travel and improving the services available to both residents and visitors.
