A number of secure solar-powered bicycle shelters have been installed at stations in Burgundy. This solar-powered version of the Abri Cigogne® offers a number of very interesting advantages:
- The self-supporting design of this locker means it can be easily transported, installed and moved using a crane truck.
- It can be installed on hard ground without any preliminary work, as it is powered by solar panels. The shelter can therefore be illuminated and connected to a remote network without the need for an electrical connection. But it can also offer charging points that can be used even at night, thanks to its batteries.
Cycling in Burgundy
The bike shelters are located near SNCF and TER stations in Burgundy. The aim is to make it easier for tourists to use their bikes to tour Burgundy, for example, but also to encourage intermodality by combining different modes of transport (bike + train).
These solar-powered, secure bike shelters each offer between 8 and 29 parking spaces next to many stations in Burgundy (Avallon, Nuits sous Ravière, Is sur Tille, Montchanin, Seurre, Joigny, Mâcon, etc.). All these cycle lockers are listed here.
