Clermont-Ferrand: installation of secure bicycle shelters

Clermont-Ferrand Métropole is strengthening its commitment to soft mobility with the installation of a dozen new Altinnova cycle sheds for secure cycle parking and the refurbishment of 2 existing premises. The installation of C.Box bicycle shelters will continue in 2026.
In response to the growth in cycling, the local authority is continuing to invest in appropriate, safe and accessible infrastructure.
A number of secure bicycle lockers have been installed in Aubière, Clermont-Ferrand, Durtol, Gerzat, Cournon-d’Auvergne and Romagnat.
These facilities allow users to park their personal bicycles in complete safety, close to where they live, work or travel.
3 models of bicycle boxes installed in the Clermont-Ferrand area
To meet the different needs of local authorities and cyclists, several models of C.Box secure bicycle shelters have been deployed:
- ALTAO® Cover: the ultra-compact 5-seater secure bike locker, also available as a 6-seater bike box.
- ALTAO® Pod: secure parking for 6 bicycles with integrated inflator.
- Abri Cigogne®: a secure, modular bicycle shelter with 20 parking spaces.
Self-supporting and upgradeable, the 3 models of bike boxes require no work, can be moved and are doubly secure: access is reserved for subscribers and an anti-theft device can be installed inside.
This equipment combines safety, durability and design, while adapting to urban constraints and local uses.
