The first 12 ALTAO® Pod secure bike shelters from the Park Vélo service are currently being installed in the Lyon metropolitan area. These enclosed bike shelters will be installed in Lyon and Villeurbanne, and will make it possible to secure one’s bicycle from 15 July 2024. As a designer and manufacturer that has been involved in the French cycling industry for many years, we’re proud to be taking part in this great project in the capital of France! “These secure bike boxes are manufactured by Altinnova (Loire) and managed by the local public company LPA-SPL Mobilités. By the end of 2024, there will be 60 secure bike boxes in Lyon and Villeurbanne.”

“They were designed and manufactured by a local company, ALTINNOVA, based in Bonson in the Loire. We spoke to its director Corinne Verdier. ” ALTINNOVA is a company specialising in cycling facilities. We set up the company in 2003 to support the growth incycling. These bike boxes are small, secure units that can be positioned close to homes. ALTINNOVA is an industrial company with integrated sheet metal work. We manufacture as orders come in. For these boxes, there are two highly secure access doors. Inside, the bicycles themselves are secured with the cyclist’spersonal anti-theft device.””

Lyon Capital reports on the city’s enclosed bicycle shelters
“Manufactured by the Altinnova company in the Loire, they have a capacity of eight spaces each, at a cost of €90 per year payable in two instalments. They will enable 96 people to park their bikes securely, in an area close to their homes, since the spaces have been chosen on the basis of requests made by users on the Toodego platform...”.

The ALTAO® Pod secure bicycle box designed and manufactured in France by Altinnova has already been installed in several French towns and cities. In fact, 50 closed bicycle shelters have already been installed in Paris, Amiens, Dieppe, Nanterre… and even New York!
